He is accompanied by his spouse Radhika Shakya, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Foreign Affairs Kamal Thapa, Finance Minister Bishnu Poudel, Minister for Commerce Deepak Bohara, Minister for Education Giriraj Mani Pokharel, chief advisor to PM Bishnu Rimal, members of the Legislature-Parliament, Chief Secretary Somlal Subedi, government secretaries, senior officials of the government, businesspersons and senior representatives of media.
During the visit, Prime Minister Oli is scheduled to pay a courtesy call on President of China Xi Jinping.
On Monday, the PM will attend the welcome ceremony at the Great Hall of the People and hold bilateral official talks with his Chinese counterpart Li and discuss the matters relating to mutual interests and common concerns, the Minister for Foreign Affairs said.
Following the officials talks, the two leaders will witness the signing ceremony of bilateral Agreements and Memorandum of Understandings by higher officials of both Nepal and China. Later the same day, a luncheon will be hosted by Chinese PM Li in honour of PM Oli and his delegation.
PM Oli will also meet with Chairman of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference Yu Zhengsheng.
The PM is scheduled to address the scholars, academics, business people and students at on the theme of ‘Nepal-China Relations in the context of Belt and Road Initiatives’.
He will also witness the signing ceremony of MoU on Granting Nepal the Status of Dialogue Partner of the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO). He is also scheduled to address the Chinese and Nepali business community at the China Council for Promotion of International Trade (CCPIT).
On 22 March, the Prime Minister will attend a welcome dinner hosted by Nepali Ambassador to China, Dr Mahesh K. Maskey at the Nepali Embassy in Beijing. On the occasion, he will interact with media persons at the Embassy of Nepal in Beijing.
The Prime Minister will address the annual Boao Forum for Asia-2016 going to organised under the theme “Asia’s New Future: New Dynamics, New Vision” at Boao, Hainan province of China on 24 March 2016. In the same afternoon, he will visit Nepal Pavilion at Nanshan Park in Sanya.
PM Oli is also scheduled to meet with Provincial and Municipal leaders in Xi’an of Shaanxi Province and Chengdu of Sichuan Province and address the business communities in the both places.
During his visit, he will also inspect earthquake reconstruction zone and a hydroelectricity project in Sichuan province. The Prime Minister and his entourage will return home on 27 March from Chengdu. RSS
